Greek Tragedy III: The Persians, Or Aeschylus Kicks You When You’re Down (Or Does He?)

In this episode, we begin our study of Aeschylus’s seven surviving plays with The Persians. Here are some thoughts I had for discussion.

  1. What do you think about The Persians?  
  2. If you were directing this play, how would you handle it?  
  3. How sympathetic towards the Persians, or Greeks for that matter, do you think we should see this play?
